We are currently hiring a Manager of 3rd Party Logistics SCT in Breinigsville, PA.
BBC utilizes a network of small and large warehouse locations to store and handle ingredients, packaging materials, equipment, and finished goods. These locations are both company owned and operated and third party owned and operated governed by service contracts. The use and number of these locations has grown over time as the business evolved and BBC now recognizes the need to implement a common work process, system and control infrastructure, and management reporting capability across all of these locations to enable more effective use of working capital.
The Manager of Warehouse Operations and 3rd Party Logistics will be the key leader within the supply chain accountable for building and leading an improvement program to deliver better inventory handling controls and accuracy across all storage locations, implement third party warehousing/logistics strategy for the company, and build the needed audit and reporting infrastructure to ensure the work process is functioning as intended. This person will work collaboratively across Supply Chain, Finance, and IT to ensure the business has near real-time visibility to all materials stored at all locations, to implement best practices to track materials/goods from transfers, to receiving through shipping, and to implement robust KPIs and performance/issues reporting to quickly identify gaps and improvement activities to strengthen our warehouse work processes.
This person will report to the Senior Director of Supply Chain Transformation and will have direct accountability for management of all external warehouse operations, including budgets, vendor communications and participation in all vendor negations, as well as have matrix accountability for work processes, space utilization and reporting for our internal brewery warehouse and yard operations.
What You'll Do:
Responsible to utilize proper cross functional resources to build, implement, and maintain the optimized 3PL strategy for the company
Responsible to help build, implement, maintain and document 3PL SOP’s
Lead efforts to drive continuous improvement in Warehouse Operations
Resolve day to day operational issues at all 3rd party warehouse locations
Ensure local distribution process and systems are compliant with Quality Management, GMP, TTB, and state and local requirements.
Lead efforts to improve and maintain high levels of On-Time-In-Full order fulfillment at 3rd Party locations and support similar efforts at BBC owned and operated brewery warehouses
Establish and drive deliverables to implement formal Quarterly Reviews to actualize commitments in the Annual planning and Budgeting processes.
Manage all aspects of the relationship of 3PL partners to deliver quality, safety, service and cost goals
Proactively manage the 3PL KPIs against industry benchmarks and actively drive logistics performance towards best-in-class levels
Continually evaluate 3PL partners against best practice standards
Work as the point of contact between BBC Distribution and Transportation teams and 3PL partners to help ensure best in class operations
Manage and enforce the RFP process for the selection of new 3PL partners
Proactively forecast and manage warehouse capacity constraints in peak season and work with Supply Chain teams to avoid disruptions in the supply chain
Ensure 3PLs are always on target for in-bounds, receiving, and out-bound expectations
Inventory handling control, including daily reconciliation and cycle count activities
Manage material master data requirements between BBC and 3PL partners
Provide leadership support to ensure 3PL partners understand and comply with quality standards related to handling of finished goods and/or raw/packaging materials used in our production processes
Works to develop and deploy a standardized inventory handling and control process across all locations, including a cycle count program to ensure inventory and location accuracy, with measures, expected targets and measurement frequency.
What We're Looking For:
BA/BS degree in relevant area (Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance or production/manufacturing)
Master's in Business or Supply Chain Management
LEAN, TPM, TPS or Six Sigma Certification or equivalent experience
Minimum of 7+ years experience in a position of leadership to include team development and management, required in similar food or beverage distribution facilities.
Required knowledge of Food Distribution Center Operations, MRP, WMS and Inventory Management,
Knowledge of HACCP, Food Safety and GMP Audits.
Project management skills.
Strong decision making, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to motivate, train and coach employees to encourage optimum performance and engagement.
Demonstrated experience improving supply chain systems, business processes, network design, warehouse design and utilization, and KPIs
Knowledge of best in class logistics management systems (TMS, WMS, etc.), including EDI and electronic ASN transfers
Desired- 10 years experience managing and leading customer-facing teams in warehouse, transportation, production planning and/or customer service/order management operations roles
Proven ability to implement and execute programs in support of corporate strategy
Proven capability of handling complex program management
Proven cross-functional leadership (internal or external)
