Scholastic is seeking an experienced Managing Editor for our online Parents Channel.
Work strategically with Editorial Director and Channel Product Manager to define and drive editorial strategy.
Manage continuous site optimization with focus on improved traffic acquisitions, increased user engagement, increased user registration, traffic referrals to eCommerce, as well as managing and maintaining Parents site content, corporate and divisional promotions and campaigns.
Understand and track key site business drivers, conduct ongoing site analysis and tests, and use that data to inform site content development and promotional strategy.
Work closely with the Editorial Director, Channel Product Manager and Marketing team to plan and meet outreach, product, and business goals – execute marketing and advertising campaigns that drive site engagement.
Write and edit site copy and content.
Responsible for bringing editorial voice and tone to life and maintaining content quality.
Interface and routinely collaborate with ad sales teams regarding site sponsorship and advertising.
Work closely with Marketing and Channel team to develop and support social media strategy.
Write and optimize channel newsletters, deliver on time and on budget
Support and execute day-to-day editorial operations.
Manage site editorial calendar and ensure fresh, timely approach that meets current marketplace trends and expectations of our customers.
Create and manage promotion schedule for site and business units and coordinate assets weekly.
Source and manage relevant freelance editorial and content resources such as writers, editors, bloggers, experts.
Review/edit original content from outside sources (authors, freelance writers, guest bloggers).
Manage content design/development vendors as needed.
Provide competitive research and market landscape data to inform strategy ; contribute routinely to the development of editorial concepts with the competitive marketplace and best practices as a reference.
