Position Title: Marketing and Sales Intern
Reports To: Marketing Director
FLSA Status: Exempt - Internship
The following provides a detailed description of the position of Marketing and Sales Intern. Actual duties performed may vary slightly. The Marketing and Sales Intern is responsible for assisting the Marketing and Sales departments to execute and achieve their goals. The Sales and Marketing Intern will also assist with Member Service Center duties as needed as well as attending community events to represent and promote Elevate Fitness Clubs.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated marketing intern to join our marketing department and assist the Marketing Director and Sales Department to help achieve our goals. You will have administrative duties in developing, implementing, and tracking marketing strategies and campaigns in addition to being expected to attend events as a representative of Elevate Fitness Clubs for the purpose of networking and lead generation.
As a marketing intern, you will collaborate with our marketing and sales teams in all stages of marketing campaigns. Your insightful contribution will help develop, expand and maintain our marketing channels.
This internship will help you acquire marketing skills and provide you with knowledge of various marketing strategies. Ultimately, you will gain broad experience in marketing and sales and should be prepared to enter any fast-paced work environment.
In addition to being an excellent communicator, you should have excellent multitasking and organizational abilities. The successful candidate will also have in-depth knowledge of marketing techniques, pay-per-click marketing platforms, and social media platforms.
Collect quantitative and qualitative data from marketing campaigns
Perform market analysis and research on the competition
Support the marketing team in daily administrative tasks
Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g. social media, direct mail, and web)
Prepare promotional presentations for the sales team (pricing presentation sheets, etc.)
Help distribute marketing materials including by attending events in-person
Help organize marketing events
Help identify marketing trends and key opportunities for innovation
Working closely with the sales and marketing departments.
Creating marketing materials such as blog posts, testimonials, and presentations
Providing administrative support to the marketing and sales teams
Prepare, format, and edit a range of documents, images, and/or video
Understand the company product and brand
General office duties
Creating and interpreting a variety of reports
Organizing market research
Analyzing questionnaires and other forms of feedback
Updating social media accounts
Strong desire to learn along with professional drive
Solid understanding of different marketing techniques
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent knowledge of MS Office
Familiarity with marketing computer software and online applications (e.g. CRM tools, Online analytics, Facebook Ads, and Google Ads)
Passion for the marketing industry and its best practices
Current enrollment in a related BS or Masters degree (or comparable experience)
Effective written and verbal communication skills
A high level of attention to detail
Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
Experience using computers for a variety of tasks
Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Good organization skills
Strong willingness and desire to learn through actions
