POSITION SUMMARY

Perform therapeutic massages of soft tissues and joints. May assist in the assessment of range of motion and muscle strength, or propose client therapy plans. Massage and knead muscles and soft tissues of the body to provide treatment for medical conditions, injuries, or wellness maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Massage therapists

• Talk with clients about symptoms, medical history, and desired results
• Evaluate clients to locate painful or tense areas of the body
• Manipulate muscles or other soft tissues of the body
• Provide clients with guidance on stretching, strengthening, overall relaxation, and how to improve their posture
• Document clients condition and progress
• Able to use google calendar and gmail to book sessions

Must be licensed in New York State

The Riverdale Y is a 75,000 sq. ft. Jewish Community Center that provides educational, recreational, cultural, and wellness programs for children and adults of all ages and backgrounds.
