The Materials Manager is responsible for the managing the strategy, planning, implementation and day-to-day standard work of the supply chain as it relates to material flow through factories. This role is responsible to ensure the function meets the company performance objectives and customer expectations. •Establish performance standards and objectives for the Materials organization that supports overall inventory objectives. •Direct top-level material management improvement plans that encompass both site operations and the supply base. Ensure that progress is tracked using the appropriate material management metrics supported by direct action plans to meet the Annual Materials Plan •Implement and sustain the Fortive Materials System throughout responsible factories with key metrics to ensure compliance and sustainability •Challenge the status quo by developing, revising and implementing materials management standards, strategies and continuous improvement objectives. Take decisive actions to make corrections with emphasis on sustainability. •Reduce non-value added activities driving productivity within the materials organization and materials flow through the end-to-end process. •Prepare the monthly rolling inventory forecasts supported by action plans, NPI assumptions, production plans and other operational assumptions. •Manage PSI (Production, Sales and inventory) process for responsible factories. •Work closely with the business unit teams to develop reliable demand plans that can be used to drive distribution center inventory management and factory production plans. •Build a strong supply chain organization with talent that can grow within the operations organization beyond materials management. •Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain •Minimum 5 years of experience in demand management, supply chain management, manufacturing planning, materials planning, production planning or supply chain planning and execution •Experience managing production lines including materials planning and production planning •Experience in working within a matrixed operations environment •Ability to move effectively between strategic and tactical initiatives •Extensive efficiency in ERP/MRP/Kanban, Microsoft Suite Applications, Oracle and OBI experience •Ability to understand and clarify business needs and develop processes that achieve business objectives is a must. •Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. •Demonstrated team and collaboration skills •Strong organization skills Fortive is a diversified industrial growth company comprised of global businesses that are recognized leaders in attractive markets.
