Mechanical Engineer at Nalu Medical, Inc.

This position is responsible for developing the necessary mechanical component, subassembly, assembly, and final product designs and drawings needed to produce Nalu Medical products.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing both design and project tasks related to the design and production maintenance of implantable medical devices and ancillary electromechanical packages
• Assisting in research and development of new components, assemblies, and processes as a member of the Product Development team
• Participating in the development and review of research and product development activities
• Performing dimensional, strength of materials, heat transfer, mechanism movement, and manufacturability analysis as part of the design and development tasks, as necessary
• Generating test protocols, performs tests, and generates reports for product verification
• Performing product packaging design tasks including the definition of constraints
• Initiating drawings and specifications for piece parts and assemblies; generating change orders to existing documents; reviews documentation generated by others relating to product responsibilities; participating in design reviews; verifying all final design documentation, parts lists, and drawings to insure completeness and accuracy
• Performing procurement and cost considerations analysis in the performance of tasks related to the assigned product

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanica Engineering or Life Sciences or equivalent combination of education and experience; Masters degree preferred
• 0-5 years related experience, preferably in medical device design environment
• Working knowledge of light machine shop practice and operation; ability to use shop tools such as drill press, drills, heat sealer, pull test equipment and x-ray inspection equipment
• Working knowledge of current CAD tools required
• Experience working within an ISO or FDA type design control environment
• Experience in the use of analytical tools and methods including statistics, DOE, and computer analysis packages
