Santa Barbara Infrared, Inc. is currently recruiting for the position of Mechanical Engineer.
Mechaniceal Engineer Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Engineer's primary responsibility will be to research, design, develop and test mechanical designs of infrared test equipment. The engineer will be involved with product design including concepts, design reviews, documentation release and integration. The Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with other engineering disciples to design mechanisms, precision optical mounts and product packaging. The engineer will create new designs and perform related design modifications, malfunction and failure investigations and evaluations, technical report preparation and similar ancillary duties.
Due to US Export Control Regulations compliance, eligible candidates MUST be a US citizen, permanent resident or a person who has been granted asylum; proper documentation required. Pre-employment verifications: must pass background, reference and ITAR/EAR checks in addition to a pre-employment drug screen.

Minimum Qualifications: BS, ME or equivalent education; 5-10 years of experience desired. Experience using Solid Works is required. Optical design and IDCA design experience is desired.
