About the Job
Chemours is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Co-op to join our Technology team! This position will report directly to the Manufacturing Technology Senior Engineer.
As a Mechanical Engineer Co-op, you will work closely with the Engineering team gaining valuable experience through hands-on projects in a chemical plant. You will have exposure to real-time engineering work alongside other engineers to apply what you’ve learned in the classroom.
Effective engineering co-ops will have the ability to communicate with impact, have strong self-awareness, and will be naturally inquisitive.
*Location:* Washington Works, WV
*Hours:* Regular full-time schedule of 40 hours per week
*Term 1:* Summer (June-September 2021)
*Term 2:* Spring (January-June 2022)
*Term 3:* Fall (August-December 2022)
*The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:*
* Analyzing equipment performance and recommending improvement plans
* Conducting failure analysis investigations
* Participating in process safety management activities
* Contributing to team meetings and conference calls
*The following is /required/ for this role:*
* Current enrollment at an accredited university as a Sophomore or above
* Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or similar fields
* Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
*The following is /preferred/ for this role*:
* Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering
* Participation in relevant activities, organizations, and projects beyond the classroom
* 3.0 GPA or above
