Medical Billing Specialist/Certified Coder
Grand Prairie Services is looking for a Certified Billing Specialist/Coder to join our Billing Team. This person must have have good communication skills, detail oriented and ability to prioritize their workload. Provide accurate and timely entry of billing information for the purpose of timely contract payments to ensure the highest reimbursement is paid by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Collect and enter claim information.
Additional collection procedure if necessary to receive highest collection rate.
Process request for reports billing systems and prioritize requests after consulting with the supervisor. Post payments from payors.
Responsible for submitting accurate and insurance claims and ensuring proper payment
Process new client intakes from phone calls. Contact the insurance companies regarding benefits, deductibles and co-pays.
Communicate with insurance companies on unpaid or rejected claims. Resolves issue and re-submit in a time manner.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED, Must have at least 2 years related experience as a Certified Biller/Coder. Experience with Medicaid billing a must.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
