University School of Medicine and Children’s Hospital of Chicago seek a Medical Director to lead the Pediatric Neurocritical Care Program.
The individual will be responsible for leading the neurocritical care team which includes intensivists, neurologists, an advanced practice nurse and neurocritical care fellows. The candidate will participate in the clinical care provided by the group which includes inpatient service, long-term outpatient follow-up after discharge, and telemedicine consults for ICUs at outside hospitals in the region. The program director will be responsible for all aspects of the program including directing the neurocritical care fellowship, and supervision of research activities by the faculty. In addition, this individual will be expected to contribute to the strategic development and expansion of the program in collaboration with the Division Head.
The individual must be an MD or DO and be board certified in Neurology, with special qualifications in Pediatric Neurology and demonstrated expertise in pediatric neurocritical care. The candidate must also be licensed in to practice without restriction. A specific research interest within neurocritical care and a track record of mentoring trainees and faculty is highly desirable. The position includes an academic appointment as Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University School of Medicine. Tenure status will be determined based on qualifications. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with qualifications.
