Position SummaryTexas Oncology is excited to announce an incredible opportunity for a full-time, vibrant, team-oriented Medical Physicist to join our regional group of six radiation oncology centers located in the Dallas metroplex.
This position will primarily be based at the Charles A. Sammons Baylor Cancer Center location within the Dallas Region POD.
The Charles A. Sammons Baylor Cancer Center location is a busy practice that provides a full range of radiation therapy procedures; including SRS, SBRT, TBI, TSET, HDR, LDR (prostate seed implants) and radiopharmaceuticals (Xofigo and Lutathera). Equipment in use at this location includes a Varian TrueBeam, 2 Varian Clinacs (Novalis and 21iX), GE CT, VariSource IX HDR afterloader, Mosaiq R&V, Eclipse, iPlan, MME, BrachyVision and VariSeed TPS. The fully staffed team includes 3 Radiation Oncologists, 3 ABR Certified physicists, 3 Certified Medical Dosimetrists, 7 Radiation Therapist and 1 Chief Therapist.
The Dallas Region consists of 6 radiation oncology centers supported by a total of 10 Medical Physicists and 10 Radiation Oncologists. While each center is operationally independent, the physics staff collaborate on special projects and assist each other as needed. In addition to external beam therapy (3D, IMRT and VMAT), there are active SBRT programs at 5 centers, HDR programs at 5 centers, TBI programs at 2 centers, radiopharmaceuticals at 3 centers, a CyberKnife program at 1 location and a CAMPEP accredited physics residency program based at 1 location.
Job responsibilities will include all aspects of radiation oncology physics, quality assurance, treatment planning, radiation safety and research. While this position is primarily at the Charles A. Sammons Baylor location, the successful candidate will also provide coverage and collaborate with staff at all Dallas Region locations.
The ideal candidate will have:
• ABR board certification, or equivalent
• Valid Texas state license
• 3 - 5 years of experience
• Strong organizational and oral / written communication skills
• Working knowledge of SRS and SBRT planning and treatment procedures
• Experience with Varian linear accelerators
• Experience with Eclipse Treatment planning
• Experience with HDR planning and treatment – Elekta and/or Varian
• Experience with MOSAIQ
