Position SummaryTexas Oncology is searching for a vibrant, team player to join our busy Texas Oncology Midland site as its Medical Physicist. Texas Oncology has over 50 radiation oncology sites in the state of Texas, so you will have access to the experience and expertise of many physicists while retaining independence as a solo physicist.
Procedures: Texas Oncology - Midland performs external beam IMRT and SBRT treatments. There is also an active brachytherapy program at this site including radiopharmaceuticals.
Equipment: Varian 21iX with 120 Millennium MLC and OBI (kV and CBCT), treatment planning in Philips Pinnacle (migration to Varian Eclipse is in the planning stages); a GE Lightspeed CT (4 slice) with Varian 4D RPM; Nucletron MicroSelectron HDR with Oncentra treatment planning;
Team: This site has 1 radiation oncologist, 1.5 CMD dosimetrist, 3 radiation therapists and 1 Chief radiation therapist. Texas Oncology has a sister site 30 minutes away in Odessa with 1 radiation oncology, 1 physicist, 1.5 dosimetrists, 3 radiation therapists and 1 chief therapist. In addition, Texas Oncology provides many vendor webinars, its own journal club and the opportunity to serve on many physics committees.

The ideal candidate will have experience with or possess:
• a valid Texas state license
• 5+ years of experience
• Experience with Varian linear accelerators
• Strong organization and oral / written communication skills
• Nucletron HDR planning and treatment
• SBRT and SRS procedures
