Position SummaryTexas Oncology is excited to announce an incredible opportunity as a full-time, vibrant, team-oriented Medical Physicist to join our newest Gulf Coast site located in the beautiful region north of Houston known as The Woodlands. You will become part of the Texas Oncology – Gulf Coast Physics and Dosimetry team.

Texas Oncology has more than 150 sites of service throughout Texas, with more than 350 physicians dedicated to serving our patients. On average, we treat more than 50,000 new cancer patients each year, with documented growth year over year. Texas Oncology pioneered the concept of community-based, outpatient, multidisciplinary cancer centers. We give local communities access to leading-edge technology that was previously only available in larger metropolitan areas. Texas Breast Specialists and Texas Urology Specialists are a part of Texas Oncology. Texas Oncology is an affiliate of The U.S. Oncology Network, which is owned by McKesson Specialty Health, a division of McKesson Corporation.
Facilities and Equipment:
The Woodlands site has a Varian Trilogy Linac with IMRT, IGRT, VMAT and SBRT capabilities and a new GE RT16 CT/Sim. The site will have an active HDR program with a new Elekta Flexitron HDR unit. Treatment planning is done on a Varian Eclipse RTPS with MIM imaging software. We utilize Elekta’s Mosaiq as our ROIS with RadCalc as our secondary check and SNC Machine as our QA/QC tool.
Combined, the Gulf Coast Physics and Dosimetry team currently consist of 5 ABR Medical Physicist, 6 CMD certified Dosimetrist, with the plan to add one additional Physicist and one additional Dosimetrist for The Woodlands site.
As an integral part of Texas Oncology, you will appreciate the opportunity to corroborate with other network physicists who are eager to share their expertise. Texas Oncology also provides many vendor webinars, its own journal club and the opportunity to serve on many physics’ committees.

The ideal candidate must have:
• ABR board certification
• The ability to obtain a valid Texas Medical Physics License
• 5+ years of experience
• A working knowledge of SRS, SBRT, and HDR
• Strong organization and oral / written communication skills
