JOB DESCRIPTION: + Provides primary care to patients. + Assists in the evaluation and treatment of patients. + Conducts patient interviews, and collects and interprets diagnostic data. + May perform physical examinations and specialized procedures under the direction of a physician. + Documents the delivery of care in the individual's medical records. + Provides patient education and trains other health care professionals. + Performs related responsibilities as required. ADDITIONAL DUTIES: + Performs clinical mental healthduties in the Student Health Psychiatry Service,underclinical supervision of attending staff psychiatrists,including psychiatric diagnostic andtreatmentservicesto patients with psychiatric conditions. + Prescribes medicationsand orders lab workandreferralswhen necessary. + Collaborates with other Student Health Services providers as needed.Participatesin Student Health Services staff meetings. + Completes annual required mental healthtrainings, including cultural competency trainingand quarterly peer reviews. + Maintains knowledge ofbestpractices in clinical mental health. Reports to the Director of Psychiatry Services. + Coordinationand OutreachDuties:Works with other departments in the Division of Campus Life(e.g. Counseling and PsychologicalServices)and with other Emory University departments (e.g. Emory College, graduate and professionalschools) to more effectively meet the needs of students and the university community. + Serves onvarious committees, writes protocols and participates in campus outreach and other health educationactivities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: + Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. + Certified as a Nurse Practitioner. + Licensed as a nurse and approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by the state of Georgia. + Two years of clinical nursing experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: + Completion of training as Registered Nurse and Master of Science in Nursingwith speciaalty in PsychiatricMental Health Nurse Practitioner clinical program, or equivalent. + Maintainscurrent board certification as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. + Maintains current Georgialicensure asAdvanced Practice Registered Nurse, PsychiatricMental Health Nurse Practitioner. + At leasttwo years of experience working in a clinical mental health setting, preferably with university studentsor young adults
