Under close supervision of the nurse in charge and/or according to specific instructions, performs a variety of basic patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comforts of patients. Serves as a member of the planning team in setting up therapeutic patient programs. Participates in group therapy and inter-disciplinary conferences. Reports and charts pertinent observation of patients. Participates directly in the management of patients under the supervision or direction of a member of the professional staff
MINIMUM LEVEL OF PREPARATION AND TRAINING NORMALLY REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE JOB
- Prefer BA or BS in related field
- Must have an associate degree in health sciences or social services or equivalent credits in the above curriculum; or currently enrolled in an RN nursing program with completion of the first half of the program including psychiatric rotation.
- Two to six weeks on-the-job experience in order to become familiar with job duties, the work area, policies and procedures, and the like.
- Current BCLS and/or obtains and maintains.
