Associate degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, Engineering / Mechanical Technology, Construction Management, a related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum of six (6) years of technical training or equivalent progressively responsible related experience in a web hosting or other mission critical building engineering operations. Or (3) years as a Journeyman Electrician or HVAC Technician with satisfactory or better performance plus (3) years industry experience. Technical training may be trade school or manufacturers training on multi-module UPS systems, medium voltage switch gear, low voltage power distribution units, building automation systems, 1.0 megawatt and larger engine-generator sets and/or large diesel engines, and other training directly related to the operation and maintenance of electrical / mechanical plant in a high reliability environment.
Must possess a current Journeyman or Master Electrician’s license or Universal CFC Refrigeration License in good standing with the local authorities.
Good working relationship with the local Electrical and Mechanical Inspector(s).
Familiarity with ASHRAE, NEC and NFPA.
Extensive experience with most of the following:
1.Multi-module UPS systems.
2.Low and medium voltage switchgear.
3.Low and medium voltage diesel generators.
4.Raised floor power distribution.
5.HVAC and related components.
Working knowledge in the operation of 100% uptime data centers, critical facilities environment or industrial power systems.
Working knowledge and experience with 10,000 + ton chiller plants and related components desired.
Must be knowledgeable in commercial construction field.
Multi-task and maintain composure in stressful and demanding work environment; Exercise flexibility in challenging and/or perplexing situations.
Excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills.
Extensive experience with detailed record keeping and data entry accuracy.
Ability to read and analyze blueprints and construction drawings.
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to provide direction to Operations Technicians in absence of Management.
Working knowledge of automated building control systems
Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of standards, practices and procedures of installing, testing and operating electrical and mechanical equipment. Usually works with limited supervision.
Provide for a safe, neat and evolving working environment.
Ability to effectively differentiate between colors without assistance.
Ability to effectively utilize and handle hand operated and power tools.
Ability to effectively utilize and handle small parts without assistance.
