Utilizes Metallurgical Engineering knowledge and experience to develop forging/Heat Treatment practices and controls to meet all technical requirements specified by the customer. Solves conventional and technical problems with direction from management. Performs assignments and duties in Product Met, Acceptance Met, AMPT (R&D), and Metallography with ongoing training and supervision. Assists Met management, other engineers and technicians in performance of their work, executes established technical policies, works with customers and vendors.
Provides Metallurgical Engineering service to other Ladish Forging departments, using broad experience and knowledge to effect further improvements in quality, processing, productivity, and cost reduction.
May work with other Engineers, and direct work of technicians.
Conceives, initiates, and develops processes and procedures to optimize control of metallurgical characteristics, practices, and cost.
Initiate, develop, and present technical proposals.
Use broad experience and expertise in specialties and innovative engineering skills to identify and solve routine engineering problems.

Requires knowledge of metallurgy, materials testing, and Metallurgical manufacturing processes.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. (i.e. Metallurgy, Material Science, or Mechanical Engineering)
