Northrop Grumman is looking for a Functional Homeroom Manager (Manager 2) to lead a section organization within the Subsystems & Payloads CoE's Ground Product and Integration Department (Electronics & Payloads Directorate). This position is located in Palmdale, CA.
The successful candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, program collaboration, and people development skills. Responsibilities include:
- Functional management of 8-14 Engineers and Technicians
- Provide technical direction; performance feedback; career development/mentoring
- Works closely with test lab and customer leadership to schedule builds and critical updates to subsystems in a datacenter environment
- Present detailed status reports and metrics to management
- Assist with the creation and feeding information to the program for the IMS
- Providing EVMS data to Engineering leadership
- Support programs with staffing/recruitment and technical programmatic issue resolution
- Lead engineering organizational process improvements, proposal /ROM/new business initiatives, and synergy activities

- Bachelor's degreeinScience, Technology, Engineering or Mathalong with6+ years of engineering industry experience
- Experience leading individual contributors and teams of performers
BS in Engineering or related technical discipline
Experience in a datacenter environment
Management/Technical Lead experience solving technical, design, staffing, and resource issues
Project Management experience (multiple projects running at the same time)
Experience with ground hardware systems development, integration, and production.
System administration experience in the following: Solaris/Unix, Windows Server, Cisco, SAN, VMWare and server clustering technology.
Strong team-building/collaboration skills; Demonstrated ability to build diverse/inclusive teams with engaged team members
Demonstrated mentoring and coaching skills
Security Clearance: Active DoD TS preferred.
