Position Description
Serco supports the US Navy NAVSEA Contract with their Surface Ship Modernization Program which leads and integrates all surface ship modernization policy, planning, and execution. Our team is responsible for the integration of surface ship modernization and manages modernization planning and execution. As the ship platform manager, this program oversees all facets of surface ship modernization advanced planning of surface ship availabilities, integration of new technologies, the overarching contract strategy , and planning yard functions.
You will be a part of a nice size team that works closely with our Customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality systems. Bernerd Zwahlen has lead this team for more than 5 years; he possesses 20 years' experience supporting ship yard modernization; and is a Navy veteran. This team has been recognized by the Navy and the industry for their outstanding contributions to the contract and program
Position Summary
Serco is seeking an energetic and dynamic individual for a professional analyst position supporting our Government client. The client is responsible for managing shipboard modernization, phase modernization, and reactivation. The ideal person for this position is self-motivated and able to work with limited direction and resources to produce final products and is well versed in the Navy Shipboard Modernization process and should be capable of anticipating future requirements and assessing and recommending the feasibility of new and innovative approaches to solve problems.
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Provides policy and guidance recommendation to commercial and government senior level staff, based on thorough analysis that utilizes accepted theory, principles and methods.
+ Is knowledgeable in navy shipboard operations.
+ Applies operational background and/or experience gained from military service and leadership roles to solve current issues and correct problem areas while anticipating future mission needs.
+ Develops operational products in specialty areas, and develops effective implementation schemes. Plans, develops, coordinates, and may direct (on an _ad hoc_ basis) several small complex projects.
+ Participates in working groups, program development forums, analytical activities, readiness exercises, training, education and other forums as required to accomplish contract requirements.
+ Monitors standards for the quality of programs and documents. Assists in the resolution of project and program priorities. Assures quality control throughout all contract activities.
+ Demonstrates superior Microsoft Office program skills to develop PowerPoint briefings, Word documents, Excel reports, etc. for clients.
+ Demonstrates superior writing and presentation skills to develop conceptual and analytical products for clients.
+ Demonstrates superior communication skills while working across programs to develop products for clients.
+ Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail.
+ Maintains and complies with security procedures in the performance of duties.
+ Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree plus 5 - 7 years directly relevant work experience.
A Secret security clearance is required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
+ Experience in advanced quantitative and qualitative analysis.
+ Computer literate and proficiency in Microsoft applications.
+ Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
