As a Pathways Direct Hire, you will be placed in a role based on professional experience and business priorities, focused on one of a few areas including: Asset & Wealth Management, Consumer & Community Banking, Commercial Banking, and Corporate & Investment Banking.
To ensure continuous development throughout the program, each candidate will receive mentorship, guidance, and support from your individual manager, program manager, veteran sponsor and many other influential business partners across the firm.
In addition to your business role responsibilities, as a Pathways member you will participate in training programs, learning sessions, individual mentoring relationships, and networking events. You will interact with JP Morgan Chase & Co. senior management and partner with a military veteran sponsor who will assist you with the transition from military life into our organization. You can also become a member of our Veteran’s Business Resource Group, an employee group that supports veteran causes. And of course, you will have the strong support network of your fellow military veteran colleagues. Technology & Operations Financial Analyst Overview:
Asset and Wealth Management (AWM) Technology & Operations Finance is an integral part of a larger Finance and Business Management (F&BM) organization that supports the CIO, Director of Operations and their respective organizations within the AWM Line of Business (LOB) at JPMorgan Chase & Co. The team’s range of activities is broad and includes, but is not limited to, semi-annual capital budgeting/planning and monthly close activities as well as ad-hoc reporting and analytics for headcount, travel & entertainment and other metrics/KPIs/OKRs as designated by management.
Financial Analyst Responsibilities and Qualifications:
Responsibilities will include monthly financials, allocations, CCAR and analysis and/or production of a variety of financial/management reports for AWM Technology & Operations. In addition, the role will assist in the semi-annual budgeting and strategic planning processes and support the team’s management information systems infrastructure to ensure the effective, efficient and timely delivery of information. Below is a sample of activities:
Analyze and/or produce various monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual financial and management reporting deliverables; creation and dissemination of ad-hoc reports as directed by senior management
- Work on the annual planning process with various stakeholders
- Ensure design and operating effectiveness of internal controls
The candidate should have extensive experience in providing monthly financial analysis that highlights key drivers and dependencies impacting results and the overall health of the organization. The candidate should have familiarity with streamlining financial processes to minimize delivery timelines. In addition, the candidate should possess the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or Finance; CPA/MBA preferred
3+ years’ experience in financial management / accounting environment with previous experience supporting Technology and/or Operations organizations preferred
Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint; experience with Clarity, Essbase, SAP and Tableau preferred
Detail oriented individual capable of completing reporting and analytics accurately, on a timely basis, and in a presentable manner
Capacity and desire to work both at a strategic and detailed analysis level
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary
Individual must be able to work independently as well as in a team situation
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi task
- Self-motivated individual to go beyond immediate responsibilities
