Mission Support Specialist
Mission Specialist is a General Laborer:
PAE(formally Defense Support Services, LLC) is looking for individuals to travel overseas to assist in the deployment of Offshore Petroleum Discharge System. Working hours will be 8-12 hours daily. Although not typical, some 18 hour work days are expected. Work week will be 7 days as we are on the deck of a ship or in a beach environment, consisting of but not limited; working with basic hand tools, line, chain and rope, lifting heavy loads, working around crane, excavators and other powered deck equipment such as tugger winches, powered line and pipe reels and boat davits. May be required to stay on the beach in a tent environment for up to one week at a time. Ship is equipped with self serve laundry facilities, gym and lounges. Meals will be provided up to four times daily. Sandwiches, snacks, salad bar and cereal, etc. will be available 24 hours, daily. All shipboard meals and facilities will be provided at no-cost to employee.
Experience/qualifications required: 1) On deck working experience as a merchant mariner seaman/deck hand or equivalent. 2) Small boat familiarization 3) Valid passport required 4) must be able to carry 60 pounds 5) Must have own steel-toed boots and appropriate working clothing which includes rain gear or other foul-weather clothing. Work will take place either on board the USNS VADM K.R Wheeler (currently in South Korea) or on shore in support of ship operations. All applicants can anticipate urinalysis and background investigation. No personal inappropriate clothing will be allowed.
Primarily in port/underway shipboard environment. May be required to stay on the beach in a tent environment for up to a week at a time standing safety/security watches 12 hours on with 12 hours of rest.
