About the Position:
We are looking to add an energetic, full-time Patient Mobility Specialist to our growing Safe Patient Handling team at one of our well-known patient-care clients ideally located in Sacramento, CA. The Patient Mobility Specialist supports clinical work flow by providing patient mobility assistance and training to nurses and other care personnel.This opportunity allows for a schedule of Monday-Friday from 7a-4:30p. Primary Duties: Provides on-site hands on training for nursing and other medical staff on the proper use of safe patient handling equipmentEnsures OSHA compliance, improve patient and medical staff safety and promotes a culture of injury prevention throughout the medical centerProvides training to nursing staff on Patient Mobility AssessmentsAssists in the analysis and investigation of employee patient handling injuriesCoordinates communication regarding safe patient handling and mobilityOutline, develop and create safe patient handling collateral materials: newsletter, tip sheets and equipment guides Record and report on engagements including job coaching, training & consultation requestsResponsible for equipment tracking, accessory inventory and supplyIdentify defective or damaged equipmentAssist in tracking SPH legislation to identify areas, activities or training focus shifts needed to ensure complianceCollaborates with the nursing/patient care services team to lower critical incidents and risk factors through problem solving and coachingRecognizes needs and concerns of patients, co-workers, and physicians while maintaining positive working relationshipsDemonstrates sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities in area of safe patient handlingDemonstrates knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to provide culturally sensitive care and/or service
Position Requirements:Experience in educating small to medium size groupsExperience in proper lifting mechanics and ergonomicsAbility to self-start on tasks as they arise Experience and comfort with educating small to medium size groupsAbility to communicate effectively in person, via video skype, and in writingStrong organizational and time management skills along with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentAbility to pass a background check and drug screenBachelors or higher in a medical discipline or related field (Athletic Training, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, etc)
Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with safe patient handling equipmentExperience in program management
