Reporting to and working in collaboration with CommonSpirit Health Operations, this position is responsible for assistance in carrying out and monitoring the majority of the activities related to the Chargemaster and Charge Capture activities. This position will require collaboration and consistent communication with the National CommonSpirit Health Leader as well as other members of CommonSpirit Health Middle Revenue Cycle leadership, Revenue Cycle Partners and Enterprise Executive Leadership, CFOs and CMOs.
The role leads the CommonSpirit Health CDM and Charge Capture enterprise with the goal to enhance effectiveness of patient net revenue realization and minimize revenue leakage across the system. This involves complete capture of patient revenue in every area that generates charges, management in relation to charging mechanisms and triggers, ensuring clean handoffs between National Revenue Cycle and clinical departments, Strategic Pricing, denials management, and clinical operations relations.
The National Services is charged with:
Oversees the revenue charge capture system to promote its accuracy and integrity across revenue generating departments of the organization
Leads maintenance and enhancement of the chargemaster
Leads CommonSpirit Health CDM Governance including Strategic Pricing
Consults with department managers to help develop and implement policies and procedures for the purposes of reconciling charges posted in the billing system with other source information
Identifies opportunities for charge capture improvement
Partner with National Director CommonSpirit Health Coding and Clinical Documentation for ICD-10 education and training
Collaborates in the development of programs, initiatives, and workflows, which provide alignment with education for internal customers to support clinical documentation guidelines
CDM Charge Description Master Revenue Intergrity Revenue Insurance Charge Master
10 plus years of Management experience with CDM and Charge Capture (preferred)
5 years Senior Leadership experience for CDM and Charge Capture
Education and Certification :
Advanced degree such as MBA, MHA, or MPH
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
Advanced communication skills
Subject matter expert in the CDM and Charge Capture
Strong knowledge in HIM processes and best practices
Experience with mid-revenue cycle policies and procedures
Familiarity with management reporting, metrics, and goal setting
