Bachelor’s degree required.
5-7 years public relations, communications, marketing or related field with supervisory experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; extensive writing and editing is required.
Demonstrated ability to produce timely, well-organized collateral, content and publications.
Ability to multitask, prioritize and work independently in a deadline-driven environment; manage complex projects while maintaining very high attention to detail.
Media relations expertise; press contacts across broad sectors a plus.
Proficiency in graphic and web design, programs including WordPress, HTML, CSS, Publisher, Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign.
Proficiency in social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter.
Excellent project management, customer service, and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with and build consensus among diverse internal stakeholders.
Supervisory and contracted vendor management experience; comfort working independently and as a team, ability to lead both direct and indirect reports.
Self-starter with ability to identify problems and propose solutions; able to work with limited direction.
Familiarity with fundraising best practices of a nonprofit organization preferred.
Flexibility to work some evenings as well as occasional travel.
High levels of integrity, flexibility, strategic thinking and humor are necessary, along with the creativity and persistence required to elicit new thinking and change.
