General Summary of Position:
This position will assist with the management and maintenance of the carrier network infrastructure, router and switch configurations for customer CPE equipment. The candidate is to understand the issues involved in administering, maintaining and supporting corporate WAN connectivity. Ability to support NOC level escalations with MPLS, ON-NET, and SD-WAN customers. Maintain a clean LAB, including stations, switches and routers. Attend project stakeholder meetings and advise the business on networking best practices for customer deployments. Develop and support scalable solutions for both customers and Granite internal teams alike. Provides responses to internal corporate clients in a timely manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of networking foundations
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, and basic infrastructure technologies
- Inventory staging and management for large infrastructure projects
- Thorough, accurate documentation practices are very important
- Vet out network designs and help develop new designs for prospective customers
- Automation coding and basic application development
- Nights and Weekend support required
- After hours user support required
- Ability to lift boxes daily and up to 50 lbs
- CCNP preferred
