Marcum LLP, the parent company of Marcum Search, has a full time, direct hire opening in Melville NY for a senior level Network Engineer with strong Core Networking experience and the ability to be involved in the analysis, design, planning and implementation of network solutions in large /mid sized corporate environments.Mid Level Engineers may be considered.Occasional travel is required to other Marcum US offices will be required.CCNP/CCDP is preferred; equivalent experience or certifications in process will be considered.NO third parties please.Position Summary The Senior Network Engineer must have the ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Must be able to effectively listen and respond to business and IT objectives along with shifting needs based on new work. Must have the flexibility to adapt to changing environment/requirements and manage multiple tasks. Qualification/Job Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of relevant job experience • Excellent project management, verbal and written communication skills, and customer service skills • Perform large scale network planning; plans, designs and implements infrastructure projects, technical processes and procedures as they relate to network engineering • In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure with an expertise in at least two core network technologies, such as routing, switching, collaboration and network security • Experience with designing and configuration of network infrastructure in large corporate environments, following best practice and validated designs • Must be able to troubleshoot network systematically; this includes understanding the infrastructure from the front and back end as well as how the employee will utilize the applications • Ability to proactively identify opportunities for improvement of network technologies • Ability to document network design and related processes using Microsoft Visio • Ability to work with minimal supervision and take ownership of problems and/or issues and ensures timely resolution • Act as escalation point and mentor for junior level staff, providing direction and guidance when necessary • Willingness to be part of IT Governance and Change Management processes • Willingness and ability participate in 24x7 network support rotation and handle escalations • BS in related technology field, or equivalent Preferred Requirements • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Routing and Switching, Wireless, Voice/Collaboration, Security or Datacenter • Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) • Additional vendor technical certifications a plus (Riverbed, Citrix, VMware, etc.) Technical Requirements • Strong knowledge and understanding of interior and exterior routing protocols, EIGRP, OSPF and BGP and SD-WAN technologies • Strong knowledge of core switching designs such as VLAN, RSTP, HSRP, VTP, LACP and 802.1Q • Knowledge and experience with modern datacenter designs, using Cisco Nexus technology such as VPC, VDC, OTV, FEX, and FCoE • Knowledge of next generation firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, web proxies, VPN and other security practices • Experience with cloud technologies, AWS, Azure, Google a plus • Experience with designing and supporting wireless network infrastructure, 11a/g/n/ac Cisco WLC, CAPWAP, LWAPP.
