We are seeking a Network Installation Technician to support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). This position is temp to perm from January 2020 to June 2020. The DLA Local Area Network (LAN), Data Centers Network(s) and Regional Network location(s) which provide access to the Enterprise Telecommunication Network (ETN) via the NIPRNet and the SIPRNet over Enterprise Telecommunications Network (SoETN) backbone that provides Wide Area Network (WAN) connectivity between the DLA Headquarters, its various field activity sites, depots, and forward deployed locations within the Continental US (CONUS) and Outside Continental US (OCONUS). The ETN/SoETN is a Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) consisting of core hub sites, aggregate sites, and remote sites supporting over 35,000 users providing pivotal access to the Enterprise Business System (EBS) and associated EBS applications for internal and external DLA users. The ETN/SoETN consists of multiple OC-48, OC-3, T1/T3, and satellite links that support the critical business applications, data, and communications needed to accomplish DLA’s mission of supporting our nation’s warfighters.
Experience, including supervision of contractor’s personnel
Analysis, design, and installation of local and wide area networks
Analysis and installation of communications systems
Familiar with engineering documentation, network configurations and topologies, X.25, TCP/IP, frame relay, bridges, and routers
General experience includes increasing responsibilities in technical management
Organizes and directs network installations on site surveys
Assesses and documents current site network configurations
Directs and leads preparation of engineering plans and site installation technical design packages
Develops installation schedules
Mobilizes network installation team
Directs and leads preparation of drawings documenting configuration changes at each site
Prepares site installation and test reports
Coordinates post-installation operations and maintenance support
5 years of experience
Secret Clearance with IT-I Sensitivity
Must hold CCNA
Must hold one of the following IAT Level II or III certifications:
CISSP (or Associate)
Wireless experience preferred, but not required
