Casa Colina is a non-profit, freestanding, community-governed organization. With incredible support from our community, we have been privileged to bring the benefits of rehabilitation to tens of thousands of people since our first patient in 1938. In the decades that followed, we continued to expand our care to include a state-of-the-art hospital that offers acute rehabilitation and medical-surgical care, post-acute rehabilitation with signature programs in traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and stroke, as well as a broad range of outpatient services that includes specialized physician clinics, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, neuropsychology, diagnostic imaging, children's services and even an outdoor recreation program for people with disabilities. We are a unique Center of Excellence that provides a culture of collaboration where medical leaders and experienced physical rehabilitation experts work together to help individuals steadily progress from one level of achievement to the next.
Casa Colina’s Department of Neuropsychology and Psychology is integrated into interdisciplinary treatment teams of our acute rehabilitation hospital and post-acute Transitional Living Center. We also provide outpatient neuropsychological evaluation and treatment as well as services in our residential programs, children’s center, and research institute.
We are currently recruiting for a rehabilitation neuropsychologist position primarily staffing our inpatient acute rehabilitation unit, though some hours may also be used in other parts of our continuum of care. This neuropsychologist’s primary responsibilities will include neuropsychological evaluation, capacity assessment, providing education regarding diagnoses and associated sequelae with patients and family members, consultation to referring and treating physicians and the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, and provision of psychological services to facilitate acute recovery/behavioral management and adjustment to disability. This neuropsychologist will also supervise students in our doctoral neuropsychology practicum training and contribute to our didactic training program. A background in cognitive rehabilitation would be very beneficial. This position requires a strong understanding of traumatic brain injury, stroke, general rehabilitation principles, health psychology, and co-occurring psychological disorders.
