Position to develop strategies and tactical plans to support consumer/member innovation, support new product and program launches, and combat competitive pressures. May analyze economic considerations, develop marketing forecasts, estimate costs, and manage program/project budgets.
The marketing specialist is responsible for marketing and advertising, community relations, and promotional efforts for OptumCare new acquisitions and corporate clients. This includes, but is not limited to, marketing strategic planning, product/service launch, communications development, direct marketing, public relations oversight, digital marketing needs, community events and implementation of programs and services. Assists department director with supervisory functions as assigned.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Advertising and promotional efforts for all assigned subsidiaries
- Conceptualize and deliver research findings for marketing initiatives and develop collateral and other promotional materials in accordance with client’s strategic objective
- Manage advertising budget; track and report on expenses
- Comply with regulatory and company policies for marketing materials and communications
- Implement and coordinate new product launch in collaboration with sales strategies
- Keep informed of new or modified business strategies and act quickly to operationalize

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Four or more years of experience in an advertising agency or in marketing
- Computer literacy required, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat
- Knowledge of computer programs and applications
- Skill in exercising initiative, judgement, problem solving, decision making
- Skill in developing and maintaining effective relationships with department, staff, Senior Management, vendors, payers, public
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex data
- Ability to research and prepare comprehensive reports
- Ability to monitor compliance standards
- Ability to travel up to 20% within assigned markets
- Strong copy-editing, and written content development
- Proven strategic and critical thinking skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Experience interfacing effectively internally with all levels of staff including physicians, office staff, and patients
- Excellent problem solving skills with effective follow through
- Strong verbal and written communications skills

Preferred Qualifications
- Two years’ experience supporting a health care account/company
- Knowledge of health care administration, clinic philosophy and policies and operating procedures
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) language proficiency
