The Nutritionist is responsible for providing nutrition, dietary, and breastfeeding counseling and education services to high/low risk participants. They will conduct group classes and activities, in an attempt to build collaboration efforts within the community, and take an active role in the training of new staff members.
The Nutritionist will assist in WIC sites’ operations, client flow, functions, as well as assisting fellow staff. They are responsible for providing input in staff counseling and evaluations, and becoming a role model for staff in conducting good customer service, internally and externally.
Bachelor’s Degree in Food and Nutrition, Public Health or related field. Completed an ADA approved Dietetic Internship. Passed the registered dietitian exam. Current updated CDR certification.
Knowledge of the WIC program preferred.
Knowledge and experience in lactation education preferred.
Billingual skills preferred.
