OD - full time float, Optometrist
Gundersen Health System is recruiting for a full-time, therapeutically certified optometrist to serve patients within our geographic service area. This position will have an emphasis on primary care, including ocular disease diagnosis, treatment, and management, geriatrics, contact lenses, and co-management of cataract and refractive surgery patients. The work location may change based on clinic needs and will require regular travel. Regardless of location, we provide current technology which includes EPIC electronic medical records, OIS Symphony image and data software, topographer, autorefractor, automated visual field analyzer, digital photography, OCT, and pachymetry. Support staff team members include patient liaisons, certified ophthalmic technicians, and ABO certified opticians.
Residency training and/or experience is preferred but not required. Licensure in Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota is required. The position has possible opportunities for future assignment at a permanent location.
The Eye Department at Gundersen consists of 24 optometrists and 11 ophthalmologists. Clinics are located in the following Wisconsin communities – La Crosse, Onalaska, Whitehall, Tomah, Sparta, Hillsboro, Adams-Friendship, Viroqua, Prairie du Chien and Richland Center. Clinics are also located in Decorah and Waukon, Iowa in addition to Winona, Minnesota. Subspecialty services include retina, glaucoma, pediatrics, oculoplastics, and refractive surgery.
