Ready to leave the travel behind? Like to upgrade to a Fortune 500 corporation? A Connecticut-based smaller subsidiary of a multi-billion, publicly held, global corporation needs you to diagnose, repair, and upgrade highly complex automated systems on 2nd shift at their customer site in NorthcentraL NC. This is a classy, state-of-the-art operation. Hardly any employees leave here. The systems are high speed, 4,000 square foot in size, with over 70 stations. They include 4 axis robotic arms, conveyors, bar code scanners, machine vision, pneumatic actuators, sensors, servomotors, and more. The custom controls are web-enabled. It takes 11 months to build one of these machines! They can complete 1,000,000 operations a shift. These positions require 12 weeks of training in Hartford, CT. While in training, the company pays for your hotel suite, all meals, provides a company car, and they even fly you home for a long weekend every three weeks. (Or you can fly your spouse here). Once trained, you'll be working on-site, running factory tests, installing automation instruments, conducting validation tests, providing emergency service, training operators, and more. Salary ranges from $65,000 to $90,000, depending on level of experience. A 10% shift differential is added for 2ndshift. There is some overtime available which should bring you an additional $5,000 to $10,000. Requires permanent U.S. residency, three or more years experience installing and servicing complex robotic/automated equipment, ability to read schematics and blueprints, experience loading software, knowledge of diagnostic instruments like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and micrometers, and strong electromechanical troubleshooting skills. Any exposure to machine vision, pneumatic actuators, sensors and servomotors is strongly preferred. An ASEE degree is desirable, but not absolutely required. They will not consider technicians who change jobs every year or two.
