Function:To coach and develop teams to create an environment that consistently improves the customer experience through planning, directing and coordinating the operations of the store.
Reports to Store Manager.
Extensive interaction with customers, associates and management team.
Some interaction with vendors and Corporate visitors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coach, prepare and deliver periodic performance reviews.
In partnership with Store Manager, actively participate in the talent selection and on boarding process for store team.
Facilitate focused training on operational disciplines including expense control, housekeeping, maintenance, freight processing, fulfillment, office operations and front end & checkout.
Partner with Store Manager and Regional Manager of Operations on the development of store specific plans to process freight from truck to sales floor.
Apply, identify, and share Best Practices in store.
Develop entrepreneurial ideas and take appropriate risks while developing Best Practices to improve efficiencies.
Continually teach, develop and empower in-store staff.
Effectively communicate team feedback to the Store Manager and Regional Manager of Operations.
Manage the following:
Receiving and processing from truck to stock racks (rolling racks, carts, etc.)
RTV’s, damage processing
Transfers - shipping
Receiving Associates - supervision
Facilities & Systems Maintenance
In-Store Order Fulfillment
Payroll and Expense control (supplies, utilities, etc.)
Execute all company policies, procedures, processes as required and ensure full compliance of all operational procedures and paperwork as well as federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Perform all operational functions needed to run the store on a daily basis (e.g. opening, closing, POS system, computer network, maintenance, customer service and sales).
Utilize weekly sales reports to track, analyze and communicate business results to determine strategies and maximize sales.
Communicate operational opportunities and needs to Store Manager, District Manager, and Regional Manager of Operations.
Partner with Store Manager, District Manager and Regional Manager of Operations to manage assigned Store’s supplies and other needs/equipment.
Manages a safe working environment and the ongoing protection of Beall’s assets and funds.
Maintain current awareness and knowledge of the competition and industry.
Utilize data to identify opportunities and drive improvement of operations processes.
Supervise processing, fulfillment and office associates on a daily basis through activities including (but not restricted to) hiring, motivating, delegating, promoting, counseling and coaching, performance appraisals, pay-rate reviews and terminating.
Supervise sales floor through coaching and motivating associates to ensure quality customer experience as Team Sales Leader.
Must have adequate vision, speech, hearing, and physical ability to perform essential job duties.
Must be able to stand/walk 95% of the day to perform the essential job duties.
Must have full body rotation (i.e., bending, stooping, twisting, etc.)
Must be able to climb a 12 foot ladder.
Must be able to lift at least 20lbs.
Minimum of three years of operations/retail management experience with a two year college degree or equivalent upper-level retail management experience.
Ability to work well with all levels of management, build partnerships and influence teams.
Highly organized and ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities.
Proven ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to conduct effective Store walk-through's with leadership
Demonstrates entrepreneurial, strategic, and analytical skills
This position requires a 40 hour work week. During peak periods it may require more hours and overtime must be approved by your supervisor in advance.
Schedule flexibility to include evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet demands of the business.
Must have a valid Florida driver license and reliable transportation.
Ability to travel based on business need
