This is a highly cross-functional role and will work closely with silicon photonic design, firmware, module design, mechanical, reliability, and product engineering teams to ensure quality new product release from design to manufacturing.
Responsibilities include testing and characterization of silicon photonic subassemblies to verify performance, provide design feedback and control algorithm development for silicon photonic devices. A fundamental understanding of coherent optical modules and components, including tunable lasers, optical transceivers , Mach Zehnder modulators, modulator drivers, photodetectors, transimpedance amplifiers, EDFAs, and coherent digital signal processing is required.
MS/PhD in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
Strong foundation in optical devices such as lasers, modulators, detectors, and integrated optical components
Strong analysis and problem solving skills. Knowledge of digital signal processing signal a plus.
Experience with optical link design including power budgets, OSNR calculation, etc…
Programming experience in Python, Matlab, C#, or other language for modeling, characterization, automation, and data acquisition.
Proficient working with large datasets and statistical analysis tools.
Self-motivated and self-directed individual capable of establishing strong cross-functional relationships.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
