OR Surgical Physician Assistant

PIH Health is seeking an OR Surgical Physician Assistant to work closely with the supervising physician to coordinate a course of treatment for patients: perform histories, physical exams, pre and postoperative care, patient education, and discharge. The Surgical PA will also perform procedures such as first assist in surgery for a variety of surgical procedures, including but not limited to Orthopedics, OB/GYN and General Surgery.

- Demonstrated expertise all PA pre and post operation procedures: Knowledgeable regarding Surgical PA scope of practice.
- Able to perform duties as first assist in surgery.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal and conflict resolution abilities.
- Independent performer.
Current California Physician Assistant license
Current Basic Life Support Certification
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification
Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant School
One to three (1-3) years direct patient care clinical experience.
Evidence of continuing education and self-development to support license requirements
Board Certification: Board certified or board eligible
