Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 7 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This position is responsible for providing advanced database services and support for the Cleint Oracle databases infrastructure including database patches, project support, on-call support, database architecture and design.
Additionally, this position will provide critical support for the Forward Mortgage Business shutdown including the development of database archive and consolidation processes in support of the RIM retention requirements.
Tasks to be performed will include implementing and maintaining Oracle instances; resolving database performance issues, database capacity planning, implement database schemas and objects, and configure backups.
This resource will also provide technical expertise and consulting services to the Client Home Loans development teams.
7 years experience supporting Oracle database environments.
7 years experience supporting UNIX including shell programming, cron, korn shell, and the UNIX AIX operating system.
7 years experience developing PL/SQL stored procedures.
Strong experience supporting databases in a virtual AIX environment with experience in AIX LPAR's
Experience with installing and configuring Oracle Enterprise Manager with Grid Control
Oracle database administration experience with Oracle Versions 9i, 10g, and 11g.
In-depth knowledge of Oracle backup/recovery techniques, database upgrades and patches
In-depth knowledge and experience performing SQL and database tuning.
Strong knowledge of Oracle Internals and OFA standards
Job duties and responsibilities:
Startup/Shutdown - database & listener whenever required
Object and Schema Creation

Create & Manage data files, table spaces

Reorganize specific database objects, tables spaces etc.,
Install and configure database related backup/recovery tools
Maintain & update/upgrade specific Database backup/recovery tools
Create/configure/Execute Database backup
Monitor daily Database backups, exports, archiving
Test new releases for database instances
Prepare installation documentation for database release upgrades
Execute database upgrades (installation and configuration)
Building and Configuration new databases
Install New Instances
Installation of database Software (system tables)
Creation and Configuration of the database instance
Building and Configuration of new servers required for Database management
Sizing datafiles/tablespaces/file groups
Root cause analysis and performance tuning
Suggestions on Consolidation of database
Data Security Compliance

B. S. Degree
Minimum 7 years general IT in development, database engineering, or database administration.
