Orthodontic Dental Assistant at DiFranco Orthodontics

Urgently hiring for a privately owned dental practice that makes a commitment of excellence to both our team members and our patients. The patient base is large and stable, so you’ll never have to worry about your hours being cut. The state-of-the-art office is in a pleasant neighborhood and only a 5-10 minute walk from beautiful downtown Park Ridge.

We are looking for a high-level and professional dental/orthodontic assistant who contributes to keeping the office efficient and pleasant for our patients. You’ll be there to ensure excellent customer service and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the orthodontist's shoulders. You’ll be positioned to excel if you are well-organized with great attention to detail. Successful team members should be able to follow instructions and respect the office regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible. Responsibilities:

Welcome patients in the office

Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort

Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed

Sterilize instruments according to regulations

Assist the Orthodontist through 4-handed dentistry

Undertake lab tasks as instructed

Provide oral hygiene care instructions

Keep the operatory clean and well-stocked

Take photos and x-rays of patients

You’ll be a perfect candidate if you have:

Proven experience as dental assistant (ortho experience a plus but not required)

Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods

Understanding of health & safety regulations

Good computer skills

Excellent communication and people skills

Attention to detail

Well-organized and reliable

High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred

Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA)
