The Partnership Marketing Manager II is a member of a team that delivers best in class, branded marketing and loyalty programs across channels leveraging data-driven insights and vertical expertise to drive profitable portfolios that deliver value for our cardmembers, brand partners and our organization. Participates in strategy development of differentiated marketing activities that supports our ability to drive strong, mutually beneficial growth in New Accounts, Accounts Receivable, Credit Sales and Tender Share for a specific vertical of clients. Collaborates with team to shape Marketing decisions and strategies. Works closely with Account team and Field team to support the enhancement of our competitive position and maximize profitability. Essential Job Functions
Account Marketing Planning - Serves on a team of marketing professionals that provides expertise and oversees marketing planning (annual, seasonal, long range) relevant to specific vertical and product set, optimizing program performance, delivers on Critical Few Initiative (CFI) expectations to achieve/exceed budget targets. Develops program recommendations and participates (or leads in some cases) the marketing planning for assigned clients as part of the Vertical Marketing Team (VMT) strategy and assessment process. Leverages marketing planning tools provided and owns/manages the Marketing Calendar. Contributes to new program and idea generation to enhance the marketing activities plan. Provides input on and/or manages marketing programs that deliver value and work toward successfully meeting the agreed upon goals for each critical initiative. Administers and organizes meetings (in some cases), including scheduling meetings, inviting partners as needed, creates and coordinates meeting agendas, and following up on meeting next steps. Assists with program initiation and execution according to the marketing calendar and ensures that all requisite input is correct and timely to allow those programs to be successful. Maintains knowledge of inventory status for all program collateral. Reviews data, results and performance measurements to coordinate programs that ensure goals and targets are being met. Manages invoices and expense reconciliation for marketing related initiatives and maintains fund trackers in partnership with Account Team
Marketing Best/Next Practices - Works with team to ensure marketing best practices are in place for specific client programs across channels based on program vertical/maturity. Contributes to a process that identifies and champions next practices for ongoing performance and differentiation. Is familiar with industry and vertical benchmarks and adopts a test and learn approach. Ensures brand intimacy by delivering marketing that is a consistent and relevant voice to cardmembers. Participates in customer journey mapping and creates lifecycle marketing plans tailored to vertical that encompasses all stages. Participates in the Business Intelligence Review, including daily review of various resources, articles, trends, or discussions that may impact the client’s business. Stays up to date on knowledge of the particular vertical business and changes in the Industry. Contributes to enterprise wide initiatives to further the Know More Sell More® brand promise. Participates in development of marketing strategy for emerging technology, capabilities and executes best practices for marketing to ensure customer adoption
Program Performance - Partners closely with Client Partnerships Account Team and matrixed team to influence P and L performance by optimizing customer segmentation and lifecycle strategy and informing investment decisions of marketing capital to positively impact portfolio Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and deliver on CFI expectations. Partners closely with Account Team, analytics team and other matrixed partners to develop, execute and test various marketing campaigns. Utilizes various performance reporting to proactively identify areas of opportunity for brand partners within the vertical.Reviews and understands the levels of profitability and coordinates marketing planning activities to ensure goals and targets are met.
Relationship Management - Supports client satisfaction and relationship through participation in client meetings (weekly marketing planning meetings) as determined and provides strong ongoing support of client relationships and execution of the marketing planning partnership with client teams and matrixed support teams. Partners closely with peers in Partnership Marketing to share information, gain efficiencies, provide mentoring, and other opportunities to lead and demonstrate attitudinal leadership. Be viewed as a knowledge resource among the team.
Talent Development - Provides indirect coaching to Partnership Marketing Manager I (as applicable), provides peer to peer feedback, and participates in personal mentoring opportunities for learning and development. Is receptive and open to feedback to further ones own professional development. Demonstrates leadership by training of peers and being viewed as a knowledge resource
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Finance or related field preferred
Preferred Work Experience
3 - 4 years experience in Marketing, Partnership Management, Marketing Services.
Preferred experience in building marketing roadmaps and strategies for retail, brand, consumer or credit cards.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to influence others in a multi-level organization. Fundamental understanding of financial concepts, retail, loyalty and credit programs, consumer behavior, and marketing analytics
Strong interpersonal skills and proven track record for driving results
• Excellent written communication skills. Able to clearly and concisely articulate the vision and strategy to all levels in the organization
• Excellent verbal and presentation skills. Able to convey their point of view in a manner that engenders confidence and credibility.
• Strong knowledge of Marketing principles, including credit, direct mail, email and digital.
• Good analytical skills - financial and quantitative skills, including profit calculations, and ROI.
• Strong attention to detail, following processes, accuracy and consistency when completing job responsibilities.
• Proven ability to organize tasks and react to shifting priorities without compromising assigned tasks.
• Ability to work independently.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
