Under the direct supervision of the Lab Manager and the Pathologist(s), utilizes dictation equipment to transcribe gross and microscopic pathology reports through the use of a word processor (computer) while handling other secretarial duties including telephone services and delivery of pathology reports. This position serves patients in and out of the hospital of all ages.
1. Must be completely competent in the applications of basic Pathology Transcription, the use of Dictaphone equipment and word processor hardware and software.
2. Must be able to type and or transcribe 80 words per minute.
3. Must be able to communicate well both verbally and in written form.
4. Must be able to interface effectively with physicians and practitioners.
