The goal of the Patient Financial Counselor is to educate patients regarding their insurance benefits and to proactively collect and resolve account balances while providing excellent customer service. Patient Financial Counselors embrace integrity, compassion and accountability.
Contact and respond to patients in a high volume capacity. Educate responsible parties regarding account inquiries, balances and process payments prior to services being rendered.
Resolve patient balances using methods that meet the financial needs of the customer while following company policies
Document patients accounts accurately
Maintain a positive rapport with internal and external clients at all times.
Perform other duties and functions as directed and/or requested
High school diploma or equivalent
Excellent Customer Service and Interpersonal skills
1 - 2 years of patient/insurance AR collections, fee schedules, claims processing
Through knowledge of AR collection approach
Knowledge of Insurance Benefits
Knowledge of Fee Schedules
Practice Management system experience
Previous experience with e-Clinical works preferred
Excel Spreadsheet and Microsoft Outlook Calendar a plus
Bi-lingual a plus
