Performs the day-to-day operations of managing the payroll and benefits program. Assist the Vice President of Human Resources and Administrative Services with special projects as needed. Responsible for performing the following duties. This is a Part-time position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Under the supervision of the Vice President of Human Resources & Administrative Services, performs the following duties:
Process payroll on a semi-monthly basis to include processing of new hires, status changes and terminations.
Compile payroll data such as hours worked, taxes, insurance and union dues to be withheld and employee identification number from time sheets and other records.
Prepare computer input forms, enters data into computer files or computes wages and deductions and posts to payroll records.
Reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
Records changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, wage garnishments and loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records.
Distributes paychecks and reviews pay data reports from payroll processing service for accuracy.
Process employee inquiries and requests to include employment verifications, mortgage verifications and other payroll related issues.
Maintain ADP employee database to include entries and updates. Generates reports on new hires, terminations, benefit enrollment and eligibility, defined human resources reports and payroll recordkeeping to include benefit accrual. Records employee information such as personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance and termination date and reason.
BENEFITS/PERSONNEL RECORDS MANAGEMENT
Under the supervision of the Vice President of Human Resources and Administrative Services, performs the following duties:
Maintain human resources files to include personnel files, human resources forms, benefits, correspondence and payroll files in line with company policies and government regulations. Retain documents in line with company records retention requirements.
Processes employee inquiries and requests related to employment and prescribed human resources practices.
Manages and arranges wellness seminar meetings, enrollment meetings and other related benefit meetings.
Conduct New Hire Orientation.
Responsible for typing letters, memos and other written correspondence.
Deliver, communicate and explain benefit program information to all employees. May counsel employees on benefit plan provisions. Arrange and conduct employee benefit presentation and enrollments.
Process group insurance claims covering company employees and dependents and pension/tax deferred annuity requests.
Investigates and resolves questions regarding delivery and payment for services by contracting health care professionals and other service providers, benefit plan providers and employees.
Assist the Vice President of Human Resources and Administrative Services in researching files and benefit data for internal and external reporting and maintenance of HR bulletin boards.
Ensure that an inventory of all human resources forms and supplies is maintained.
Serve on committees as assigned.
May perform other job duties as assigned.
Submit status reports to the Vice President of Human Resources and Administrative Services as scheduled and required.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from four year college or university; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to type 30-35 words per minute and have proficient computer skills in (Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook).
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
