Randstad Professionals is currently seeking an experienced Payroll Tax Specialist for an immediate opening within one of the largest organizations in Richmond, VA. Manages Common Paymaster program, which includes annual setup, monthly and quarterly processing, and year end evaluation and reconciliation. Performs audits, reconciliations, and balances of all periodic (bi-weekly or monthly) supplemental, quarterly, and annual tax processing and filings. Oversees the process for multi-state payroll tax filings and reconciliations, to include system set up and team members' tax records. Serves as subject matter expert to ensure company compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws as applicable to withholdings. Serves as project manager for the year-end planning committee and its associated processes. Acts as a liaison across departments. Provides tax guidance to the Payroll Tax Analyst when necessary.
•Minimum of five (5+) years of payroll processing and wage/tax reconciliation/reporting work in a large, complex environment required
•Experience in the preparation of federal and state amended tax returns
•Advance Microsoft Word and Excel experience
•Strong organization and follow up skills providing analytical support in payroll tax and related area
•Bachelor's Degree in business, accounting, or a related field preferred
•Must possess expert-level knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing U.S. Payroll
