As a member of the MIS team, provides support with personal computer and LAN operations to employees at all Hoosier Motor Club locations. Through oral and written communication resolves issues regarding hardware and software use and needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Investigates and resolves user software and hardware problems of an advanced nature.
Answers questions, applying knowledge of software, hardware and procedures.
Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
Determines source of the problem, researches, if necessary, and resolves.
Recommends changes to programs.
Assembles, installs, configures and tests computer equipment or units of local area networks requiring use of standard interface protocols. This includes, but not limited to, installing equipment, connecting and moving devices or creating components of autonomous networks, installing disk drives, correcting definitions on data switches, protocol converters, etc.
Responsible for documenting and responding to trouble calls and requests received by the IT Help Desk including logging, status updates, and user follow-up and signoff via Helpdesk software.
Performs and schedules repair, maintenance and installation of computer hardware, software and peripherals to ensure continuous operations.
Develop training materials and procedures, and/or train users in the proper use of hardware and software.
Provide technical training as requested by management.
Performs additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
3+ years of job-related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
Intermediate knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and Desktop/Laptop Hardware configuration and Troubleshooting/Repair.
Valid drivers license
