About the Job
CHILDRENS MINNESOTA, one of the top ten largest childrens hospitals in the Country and the largest in the Upper Midwest, is looking to add a neurosurgeon to our established and developing neurosurgery department comprised of three neurosurgeons, three PAs, and four PNPs.
The neurosurgery team at Children's is committed to the constant pursuit of better care for these children through adoption of the latest techniques, training, and technology including: 3 Tesla MRI system, Intro-operative MRI, Interventional neuroradiology, advanced brain mapping for patients with epilepsy and brain tumors, and minimally invasive neurosurgery techniques.
Our Neurosurgery Division provides both inpatient and outpatient pediatric neurosurgery coverage for the full scope of diagnoses. The most common surgical cases seen are: Hydrocephalus (shunt procedures and endoscopy), brain tumors (including IMRI), chiari decompression, Craniofacial procedures, and Epilepsy surgery (Including grid placements, cortical mapping, resections, VNS, and Visualase ablations).
Childrens Neuroscience Center brings key subspecialties together under one roof, including epilepsy, neurology, and neurosurgery all championing a highly integrated care model. This evolving program has a dedicated inpatient unit for epilepsy and medical/surgical neurology, with state of the art video monitoring capability.
This position requires a medical degree (or foreign equivalent), eligibility for MN medical licensure and DEA registration, eligibility for board certification in pediatric neurosurgery and completion of a neurosurgery residency and a accredited pediatric neurosurgery fellowship.
