The Pharmacist - InformationTechnology/Robotics provides, technical and administrative direction andsupport relating to the design, build management, training, assessment, andmonitoring of technology, information systems, equipment and databases in theDepartment of Pharmacy.
·Evaluates systemoperations for safe and effective use of automation and technology services.
·Maintains thedepartment's technology services in accordance with all accepted ethical andprofessional practices and legal requirements.
·Ensures that thedepartment's technology services conform to accrediting body standards.
·Build andmaintenance of Cerner
·Support andvendor interaction with other pharmacy related software to support medicationprocess for a two hospital system and outpatient pharmacies
·Participate inthe planning, development, implementation, upgrading, maintenance andevaluation of clinical information systems
·Must possess a Doctor of PharmacyDegree.
·Must be licensed as a Pharmacist inthe State of Illinois.
·Must have successfully completed ofa Clinical Pharmacy Residency.
·Proficient inoperating a personal computer and associated application used for enteringpharmaceutical information and running reports.
·Previousinpatient pharmacy experience, Cerner Millennium applications, includingdesign, build testing and maintenance of PharmNet and medication process inPowerChart experience
·PharmacyInformatics Residency or fellowship training
·Two (2) years ofpharmacy IT experience
·Additionalcertification and/or training in pharmacy automation or pharmacy technologyservices
·EnterpriseRxsoftware (retail) experience
·Pyxis, Swiss LogBox Picker, Baxa Compounder and Alaris Smart Pumps experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilitiesand Other Characteristics
·Knowledge of Federaland State laws and regulations relating to relevant pharmacy practice,pharmaceutical entities and their generic and scientific names, clinicalpharmacy applications, drug information programs, unit dose and I.V. programs,inventory control, purchasing, automation and data processing systems asapplicable.
·Skill in the useof a Microsoft Office products, relevant pharmacy automation, and dataprocessing software/hardware is highly desirable.
·Ability tocommunicate effectively with a wide variety of groups and individuals.
