Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities

A Pharmacy Technician is responsible for processing prescriptions for customers.  This includes customer service, transcribing physician’s prescriptions, insurance billing, prescription dispensing and labeling, prior to pharmacist’s review. Other routine responsibilities include managing and stocking inventory intake, filing paperwork and cleaning.  Additionally, pharmacy technicians must regularly undergo compliance training such as HIPAA compliance training as well as Fraud, Waste and Abuse training.

Seeking a candidate that is bilingual in English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese).  They must be able to keep a neat and orderly work space, have the ability to multitask and be able to problem solve.  We are a busy retail environment and expect all technicians take ownership of their responsibilities to customers.

Requirements for Pharmacy Technician:

• High school diploma
• Over 18 years of age
• Criminal background check required
• Bilingual in English and Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese)
• Strong computer skills
  • Required for Billing for medication
  • Dispensing of medication
• Good communication skills
• Works well in a team environment with other staff
• Reliability and responsibility
• Mature, friendly and service-oriented attitude
• Certification is a plus, but not required

Essential Job Functions:

• Process customers prescriptions when they drop off prescriptions
• Checkout customers when they pick up prescriptions
• Greeting all customers and vendors
• Handling each customer transaction in a courteous, friendly manner
• Interest in health care
• Stocking all inventory and maintenance of inventory displays
• Cleaning
• Other tasks as assigned by management
