Pharmacy Technician II
For Immediate Hire The Narragansett Indian Health Center is looking for a full time permanent Pharmacy Technician II. 2 years experience in a hospital setting preferred but will consider experience in other settings. The functions include in part: Assist medical providers in interpreting and translating between the NIHC patients and Contract Pharmacists/Pharmacies. Answer pharmacy related phone calls, receive prescriptions, collect patient information relevant to new prescriptions and refills, stock medications, assist with process to fill new and refill prescriptions, fill prescription labels, work with prescription insurance, perform inventory, provide inventory reports as requested. Purge expired Medicines as needed. General office duties as needed.
Proficiency in English both spoken and written language
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask efficiently under pressure
Experience working with Electronic Health Record
RPMS software experience preferred
Experience in a hospital setting a plus
Board of Pharmacy Requirements
Candidate must hold a current Pharmacy Technical Certification Board number (PTCB)
Candidate must be a registered Pharmacy Technician with the State of Rhode Island. Registration includes any history of applicant’s previous charges or law violations involving Pharmacy, Liquor or Drug laws.
Candidate must be nationally certified at the time of hire.
NIHC is a tribal FQHC, owned and operated by a federally recognized Indian Tribe. Knowledge of history, culture and health needs of Native American Communities is preferred.
