Pharmacy technicians assist and support licensed pharmacists in providing health care and medications to patients. Pharmacy technicians must have a broad knowledge of pharmacy practice, and be skilled in the techniques required to order, stock, package, and compound and otherwise prepare medications.
The Lead Pharmacy Technician is responsible for overseeing the daily duties of technicians and other supportive personnel for the pharmacy department.This position will assist the Director of Pharmacy to ensure all appropriate legal, regulatory, and accrediting requirements are maintained at the best demonstrated practice. Maintain a professional presence throughout the hospital.Assure pharmacy services and activities are carried out to meet goals and standards of both Steward Health Care and the client/hospital.
Qualifications Education: High school degree or equivalent
Experience: Previous experience as a hospital pharmacy technician; ACPE or ASHP accredited course in compounding sterile preparations preferred
Certification/Licensure: Current technician certification and required licensing
