Plant Controller at Silgan Dispensing Systems.

Silgan Dispensing Systems is searching for a Plant Controller to direct the financial management, budgeting and accounting functions in our closures production facility located in Slatersville, Rhode Island.  We are looking for a proactive individual capable of managing accounting processes and teaming with management to drive financial results.  Specific areas of accountability include: Budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and analysis, monthly closing, internal controls, product costing and inventory management. 

• Direct the site level accounting function and supervise one Senior Accountant responsible for monthly closing and internal controls
• Explain monthly financial results to division management with crisp, clear commentary and analysis
• Prepare annual budget and monthly financial forecasts
• Review product costing and reset standard costs during budget process each year
• Prepare and issue monthly financial reporting
• Perform ongoing review of internal controls to ensure accounting procedures and financial reports are in compliance with US GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley and Silgan internal accounting policies
• Prepare economic evaluation of proposed capital investments
• Serve as site leader for all internal and external audit requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Master’s Degree, CMA or CPA designation preferred
• 8+ years of related experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Candidate should be self-directed and capable of managing multiple initiatives to completion under limited  supervision
• Candidate should be comfortable suggesting new ideas to improve the accounting and finance functions combined with a proven ability to drive successful implementation of process improvements  
• Ability to effectively communicate financial results to all levels of operations and management
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, familiarity with JD Edwards and Hyperion a plus
