Summary:
Our team makes sure the applications on our platforms are high-quality and trustworthy. Working closely with other Facebook teams, we detect and investigate violations of our Platform Policies. Depending on the nature of the violation and the best interests of our users, we may take a variety of actions; everything from helping the developer fix the problem, to permanently removing the developer and application from our platform. We’re always working to improve the platform experience for both users and developers through the use of automated detection tools, strategic manual review, data analysis, developer guidance, and coordination with product engineers. Facebook is looking for a strong team player that will be responsible for auditing and investigating Facebook integrated apps, developers and respective companies to identify potential violations of our policies. In this position, you will interface with internal teams such as Partnerships, Policy, Legal, Marketing and Engineering, as well as with external developers using the out platforms. The candidate must be able to understand causation, share lessons learnt and demonstrate impact by preventing recurrence.
Required Skills:
1. Produce high quality, timely, and tailored intelligence reports and assessments to internal and external parties while managing sensitive or confidential data
2. Ability to assess, analyze and convey complex investigative findings, and distill that complexity into simple and concise communication
3. Synthesize research from a variety of sources to identify broader patterns of abuse, developer attitudes and behavior on platforms
4. Effectively recognize platform abuse by performing relevant research and data analysis using both internal and external tools and resources
5. Analyze large and unstructured data sets to identify trends and anomalies indicative of potential malicious activities or data misuse that impacting Facebook, its subsidiaries and related customers
6. Prepare and deliver effective briefings to fellow team members, organization leaders and company executives
7. Ability to work with little direct oversight
8. Collaborate closely with the technical investigations staff, legal, PR, policy management and other teams within the company
9. Inform, influence, and execute new strategies and tactics using sound analysis and impact metrics to support your position
10. Manage, coordinate, and/or support policy enforcement projects as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
11. 2+ years experience with investigations, risk, fraud, trust & safety, cybersecurity or other related fields, or other comparable experience that demonstrates investigative acuity
12. Analytical experience in making assessments and solving problems using data, as well as providing practical business insights
13. Knowledge of statistical analysis and tools
14. Experience using a variety of search tools
15. Time management and organizational experience
16. Experience assessing, analyzing and resolving issues
17. Excitement about working in an unstructured environment full of ambiguity and constant change, and willingness to independently problem-solve in it
Preferred Qualifications:
18. BA/BS degree in Criminal Justice, Computer Science, Intelligence Studies, Cyber Security, International Affairs, or other relevant forensic-oriented education
19. Solid track record in Criminal Justice, Computer Science/Forensics, Intelligence Studies, Cyber Security, International Affairs, or other relevant forensic/analysis-oriented work
20. Technical knowledge/skills in investigations: Application Security, DevSecOps, Hive, PHP, Python, advanced OSINT research methods, and Maltego or other links analysis tools
21. Investigative experience in one or more of the following areas: spam, phishing, malware, account takeover, apps and ads fraud
22. Experience in database infrastructure and writing queries in SQL
